This is one of the most important things I've learned about relationships.
If you're not giving 100 percent without expecting anything in return, it's not the right relationship.
You've surely heard "happy wife, happy life": it's worth taking care of your partner's happiness and satisfaction if you want a joyful life.
It's not about living only for the relationship. Everyone has their own solar system, with planets like family, friends, passions, work and more orbiting in it. It's not about giving up your plans and dreams. It's not about becoming dependent, waiting on someone hand and foot or sacrificing yourself.
It's about being there for the other person 100 percent.
This lesson makes a lot of things simpler. There's no room in it for cheating, lies and deceit. There's room for loyalty, honesty and transparency.

Word, deed and thought. It took me a long time to figure that out.
